Internships
Kaplan Business School has developed links with a wide range of city firms in order to provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience whilst studying for their degree. Students are typically able to gain work experience during the winter, spring or summer holidays.
For Law students this is an exceptional opportunity to gain legal work experience that will help you in your search for a training contract. You will be given the opportunity to participate in the workplace (drafting, meetings, presentations, court). You will be involved in group activities and may be invited to social events. Be aware that you will probably be assessed at the end of the placement so treat the placement as one long interview that could lead to a training contract.
For students aimed toward a career in accountancy, business or finance, an internship can be an excellent way to put newly learned skills into practice, and to understand how theories are adopted and adapted in the workplace. Internship experience not only adds value to your CV, but also has the potential to open up new career avenues for you. In the past we have had many students who have gone on to full-time positions with their internship organisation, having impressed during their initial placement.
