Course overview
The BSc Economics and Finance is ideal for people interested in economic matters, and those who would like to develop a strong quantitative skills set. This degree introduces students to key national and international economic institutions through modules including microeconomics and macroeconomics. This degree examines contemporary economics and financial issues, which can be studied in more depth through the selection of optional modules including industrial economics, corporate finance and financial reporting.

Teaching & assessment:
Full time teaching (15-20 hours per week). 100% exam based assessment.
Study resources:
Students receive one free core book for every module that they take. They also have full use of the Professional Resource Centre, which contains more core books as well as extended reading, reference books and journals. Students have access to the VLE, which provides online resources such as electronic copies of all course material and forums for discussion.
Career prospects & further study:
With superb economic reasoning skills and a set of quantitative skills to match, students are appealing to graduate employers and may go on to pursue careers in these fields on completion, such as economics, econometrics, economic research and banking.
Other careers graduates may choose to go into include: management, accounting, marketing, sales and advertising and human resources. Students wishing to pursue a career as an accountant can progress onto professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW (ACA) with Kaplan Financial at any of the 27 locations throughout the UK.
Students wishing to develop their academic skills may progress on to postgraduate qualifications, which can also be studied with Kaplan.
