Course overview
This course is ideal for those who have an interest in finance and banking and may be looking to work in these fields or in trading, investment or accounting. The degree has a quantitative base with modules including maths and corporate finance, and allows the development of core skills in finance, banking and risk management.
Depending on module selection, students may qualify for exemptions from professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW (ACA), meaning they can enter the job market with great qualifications and a highly developed skills set, making them attractive to potential employers.

Teaching & assessment:
Full time teaching (15-20 hours per week). 100% exam based assessment.
Study resources:
Students receive one free core book for every module that they take. They also have full use of the Professional Resource Centre, which contains more core books as well as extended reading, reference books and journals. Students have access to the VLE, which provides online resources such as electronic copies of all course material and forums for discussion.
Career prospects & further study:
On completion of the course, students wishing to pursue a career as an accountant can progress onto professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW (ACA) with Kaplan Financial at any of the 27 locations throughout the UK. Students wishing to develop their skills may progress on to postgraduate qualifications, which can also be studied with Kaplan.
The banking sector has a wealth of internship and placement opportunities, with more than 2,700 internships and other work experiences available at top firms. Students working in investment banking may expect some of the highest paying salaries at an average of £45,000.
