Course overview
This degree caters for those who want to develop an interest in two disciplines core to the modern
business environment - accounting and law. The course acts as a solid foundation for those
wishing to pursue a general career in business. Depending on the options taken, it also offers
partial professional course exemption. Students will develop strong analytical and critical skills as
well as sophisticated problem solving techniques.

NB: Please note that studying less than six law modules (excluding The law of business organisations) will lead to a degree entitled BSc Accounting with Law. Studying six or more law modules will lead to a degree entitled BSc Accounting and Law.
Teaching & assessment:
Full time teaching (15-20 hours per week). 100% exam based assessment.
Study resources:
Students receive one free core book for every module that they take. They also have full use of the Professional Resource Centre, which contains more core books as well as extended reading, reference books and journals. Students have access to the VLE, which provides online resources such as electronic copies of all course material and forums for discussion.
Career prospects & further study:
The wide choice of optional modules in the BSc Accounting with Law degree allows students to choose the options best suited to their desired career path. If students are considering a career in law, they will have a solid background on which to build, and may choose to progress on to the conversion course (GDL) available through Kaplan Law School.
For those who are interested in a career in accounting, they may be eligible for some exemptions from professional qualifications, such as ACCA and CIMA, which can be studied with Kaplan Financial at any of their 27 locations.
Students graduating from this course are well placed in the graduate job market as finance and law are two of the top recruiting industries, as well as two of the highest paying!
