Equality at Kaplan Business School

Equal Opportunities Mission Statement

Kaplan Business School and the University of London aim to foster a community with an atmosphere of trust, harmony and respect. We are committed to the elimination of both direct and indirect discrimination, and will take appropriate action wherever possible to enforce our equal opportunities policy.

KBS will actively implement positive policies to promote equality of opportunity for all present and potential students and staff, regardless of race, ethnic or natural origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, political or religious beliefs, membership of professional associations or trade unions, disability, marital status, family responsibility or social class. This commitment applies to all individuals and all aspects of KBS life. All staff, students and visitors will be informed of the equal opportunities policy, and its operation will be subject to regular monitoring and review.

Mature Applicants

The University welcomes mature students (normally over the age of 21), including those who do not have conventional qualifications for admission to higher education. Full consideration is given to relevant experience and other educational achievements. Some courses have special arrangements for mature student applications and you should ensure that you read the prospectus before applying for the course.

At KBS, diversity is about accepting and valuing people’s differences. The diversity of our staff and students creates a rich cultural, creative and educational mix that we all benefit from. It creates an environment where we can learn from and be inspired by each other. KBS is proud of its progress and approach to equality and diversity. We attract staff and students from a varied range of cultures and backgrounds.

True diversity can only be embraced when an organisation puts practical steps in place to ensure that individual differences do not become barriers to inclusion and success. That is why we continuously strive to improve the diversity of our staff and students, setting ourselves ambitious operational targets which are reviewed regularly.
